Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree: In Film and/or Media Studies, or related fields like philology, art history, or social sciences.

Transcript and Course List: If not from Goethe-University's "Theater-, Film-, and Media Studies" program, submit a transcript and a list of study-related courses (title, CP, and grade if possible).

Study-Related Courses: Include theory, aesthetics, history, and analysis of film and media.
Only in Case of Provisional Admission:

Current Transcript: At least 80% of required CP (usually 144 CP).
- Bachelor’s Thesis: Must be finished or nearly finished; include a letter of recommendation and enrollment certification.
- Validity: Until the end of the first master’s semester. Bachelor's degree must be submitted by March 31 (winter intake) or September 30 (summеr intakе).

Language Skills: Proof of B2 level in two foreign languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Catalan, Portuguese) via standardized tests or equivalent qualifications.
Accepted Tests:
- English: TOEFL (min. 85), TOEIC (Listening: 400-485, Reading: 385-450), IELTS (min. 6.0), Cambridge (First, Advanced, Proficiency), or native speaker.
- French: DELF B2
- Italian: CILS B2
- Catalan: CLC B2
- Spanish: DELE Intermediate
- Portuguese: DIPLE B2 or CELPE-BRAS Intermediário Superior
- Other: High school diploma in a country where the language is official, or equivalent qualifications.
- Note: You have to include language proof with application.

Motivation Letter: Max. 700 words, detailing specific research interests and a project proposal, plus relevant experience and extracurricular activities.
