Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science as a major subject and mathematics as a minor subject.
A lack in a limited number of subjects may be compensated by additional courses that have to be completed within the first year at the University of Bayreuth.
Applications may already be submitted before completion of the bachelor's degree; however, a total of at least 150 credits is required by the time of application.
Conditional admission is possible; special conditions may comprise up to 15 credit points.
Final German grade "2.5" or better.

Specification: Must be reached at the latest within the first year at the University of Bayreuth.

Application Documents
For EU citizens:
- Curriculum vitae: please download and fill out the template provided on the course application page.
- Grade conversion using the Bavarian Formula: This will be available as an Excel sheet on CAMPUSonline.
- English language certificate (see language requirements). Even native English speakers need to provide such a certificate.
- German language certificate (see language requirements).
- Secondary school leaving certificate including subjects and grades, in original language + certified translation in German or English.
- Bachelor's degree transcript of records (or for comparable degree) including subjects and grades - at least 150 ECTS with a final grade corresponding to "2,5" or better on the German grading system, in original language + certified translation in German or English.
- Bachelor's degree grading scale with the maximum grade and the minimum final grade required to be awarded the degree – not for passing individual courses (must be issued by your university), in original language + certified translation in German or English.
For non-EU citizens:
- Preliminary review documentation uni-assist for the University of Bayreuth: For this master’s program, international applicants from outside the EU who have obtained their degree abroad must apply via uni-assist and undergo a fee-based special procedure: preliminary review documentation (Vorprüfungsdokumentation [VPD]).
Please keep in mind that due to uni-assist’s processing time, it may take 6-8 weeks for your preliminary documentation review to be issued.
