Five Reasons to choose this Master's Program

Course Description
How can political and societal conflicts strengthen democracies rather than tear them apart? The M.A. Conflict and Democracy at European University Viadrina answers this urgent question by combining political science, law, and applied conflict research into a uniquely integrated curriculum. You will analyze the political and constitutional dimensions of contemporary conflicts—from populism to international crises—while building practical competencies in mediation, negotiation, and dialogue design. Taught fully in English at the dynamic crossroads between Western and Eastern Europe, this master prepares you to shape democratic futures with analytical depth and impact.
Despite some claims to the contrary, uni-assist e.V. and Viadrina do not cooperate with commercial agencies inside or outside Germany to mediate applicant placement at German universities.

This program suits graduates holding a first university degree of at least 180 ECTS, including a minimum of 30 ECTS in social sciences, political sciences, or law. You should be passionate about democratic theory, international relations, and constructive conflict transformation. Analytical skills and interest in policy, mediation, diplomacy, or research are essential. English proficiency at B2 level is required.
