Course Description
The ongoing digitalization of the healthcare system is revolutionizing the way health-related information is shared, benefiting medical personnel, patients, their families, colleagues, and interdisciplinary professionals. This digital transformation enables fast, effective, and interprofessional communication crucial for patient care. The eHealth and Communication program at Friedrich Schiller University of Jena equips healthcare professionals with the essential skills to confidently navigate the digital healthcare landscape, ensuring they can efficiently communicate and manage digital health information to improve patient outcomes.

Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree.
Required ECTS credits: 240.
Applicants with a university degree with less than 240 credit points (ECTS) can be admitted if they can prove in an individual case examination that they have achieved a similar skills profile. This can be the case, among other things, through further and/or advanced training, certificates, additional training, workshops, seminars, congresses, publications, etc. Corresponding evidence must be submitted and a more detailed description of the skills must be explained in the motivation lettеr.
Minimum 1 year of work experience (you have already worked in the healthcare sector for at least a year and have been able to gain initial experience in [direct or indirect] communication with patiеnts).

Application Procedure & Selection
Application Documents
If you have a university degree with at least 240 ECTS, the following documents must be submitted:
- Copy of the certificate and grade overview of the university degree (at least 240 ECTS).
- Tabular CV (school, professional, and academic career).
- Proof of work and, if applicable, employment reference for professional activity in the health sector for at least 1 year.
If your university degree is less than 240 ECTS, you can still submit an application with the following additional documents:
- Letter of motivation for the degree program (e.g. Why do you want to study eHealth and Communication? What qualifies you for this course of study? What are your goals with the degree?).
- Evidence of additional competence expansion (compensation for the missing ECTS through other qualifications), e.g.:
- Further education and training in the health sector.
- Participation in workshops, meetings, or congresses.
- Publications or teaching in the field of healthcare.
- Certificates or other additional qualificatiοns.
