Course Description
The master program Engineering Cybernetics is the English-language counterpart of the well-established German Master's degree course Technische Kybernetik founded in 1972 and highly recognized for its educational successes.
The focus is on developing extensive knowledge through methodologically oriented courses in the core areas of Engineering Cybernetics, i.e.:
- control,
- robotics,
- system dynamics,
- modeling and simulation.
The degree program distinguishes itself for a strong emphasis on foundational courses in these areas through an in-depth use of a range of applied mathematical tools.
Upon completion, you will be competent in the task of abstracting complex problems arising in traditional and modern engineering applications (aerospace, mechanical, biomedical, and energy systems, to name a few) and use these abstractions to solve control analysis and design problems using a variety of methods grounded in systems theory, dynamical systems modeling and simulation, and computational methods.
Alumni have manifold career opportunities after graduation and are highly esteemed in different engineering sectors. Many former students of this study program hold prestigious leadership positions both in industry and academia. A survey from 2022 shows that over 80% of alumni find jobs within the first three months and 100% after 10 months.
