a) a degree in a Bachelor's degree program (acquisition of 180 ECTS credits) at JMU or at another German or foreign university or an equivalent German or foreign degree (e.g. state examination) and
b) proof of an above-average Bachelor's degree (subject grade is decisive). In cases of doubt, the examination board will decide.
c) As well as proof of competencies and modules amounting to at least 60 ECTS in the field of English/American Studies according to the ECTS credit points scheme used at JMU for the Bachelor's degree program in English/American Studies (usually acquired as part of the first degree program mentioned in letter a)) or a comparable degree program. Of the 60 ECTS credits, at least 30 ECTS credits must be earned in the linguistics and/or literary studies and/or cultural studies. In addition, 30 ECTS must cover the ability to English language at least at level C1 (advanced level of competence) of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages". for Languages" must be demonstrated. The required competencies are acquired, for example, as part of the major subject and the Bachelor's major in English/American Studies with the Bachelor of Arts degree (acquisition of 120 ECTS credits) as well as in the as part of the Bachelor's major and minor in English/American Studies (acquisition of 60 or 75 or 85 ECTS credits) at the JMU.
d) As well as proof of the ability to use another foreign language at elementary level at least at level A2 of the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages".
