Kursbeschreibung
The master's program in Geoinformatics introduces students to scientific work, taking into account English as the scientific language in geoinformatics. The aim of this degree program is the intelligent processing of geographical information in the context of geographical issues. This includes the development of (computer-aided) methods for geodata analysis - from data acquisition & storage, processing, and data enrichment to advanced explorative visualization and cartographic communication. The acquired knowledge and competencies are also to be applied in projects before the degree program is completed with a scientific master's thesis.
Voraussetzungen
Qualifikationsvoraussetzungen
Bachelor's degree in geoinformatics, geography with geoinformatics as a subsidiary subject (at least 20 credits), informatics with geography as a subsidiary subject (at least 12 credits), or related subject courses in a German university (e.g. cartography, geomatics, and geodesy).
Required ECTS credits: 180.
Applicants who have completed examinations totaling 140 credit points in a course of study mentioned above will be enrolled in the master's degree course in Geoinformatics under the condition that they provide evidence of completion by the end of the semester following their initial enrolment in the master's degree course in Geoinformatics. Proof of completion of the examinations is provided by a confirmation from the respective university or other relevant institution of the appliсant.
Successful study of the master’s course in geoinformatics requires knowledge of a modern programming language (e.g. Java, Scala, or C#). You must demonstrate this knowledge in the applicatiοn.
