Course Description
Unfortunately, the university will not be running the 2023-2025 edition of GroundwatCh. They expect to be running the program in 2024-2026 again.
Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in one of the following subjects: geologic, hydraulic, civil, environmental or agricultural engineering, geosciences, environmental sciences, climate sciences, geography, geology, or any other similar subject.
Required ECTS crеdits: 180.
A good final mark as shown by a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least B/B+ (US System) or a classification of at least 2nd upper (UK systеm).
Language Requirements
The following certificates are recognized as proof of your language proficiency.
Specification: With at least score of 20 for the writing section.
Specification: Any grade: A/B/C.
Specification: 160/Level B2 (also grades A/B/C).
Specification: 160/Grade C (also grades A/B).
Specification: 45/Level B2 (also grades A/B/C).

Required documents:
- Certified copy (ies) of academic diploma(s) (if applicable translated in English).
- Certified academic transcript(s), (if applicable translated in English).
- Curriculum vitae including work experience and research record (if any).
- While completing your application, you will be asked to answer five motivation questions. Your motivation is an important criterion for selecting you for admission and/or scholarship. Therefore, prepare you motivation questions well in advance.
- Why are you applying for this program? (max 600 characters with spaces)
- What are the specific challenges, issues or problems (in your country, region or worldwide) that you would like to address once you have completed this study? (max 1000 characters with spaces)
- How will this program enable you to address abovementioned challenges, issues or problems? max 1000 characters (with spacing)
- What are your most relevant qualifications and experiences that make you a suitable candidate for this program? (max 1000 characters with spacing)
- Where do you see yourself 5 years after you have graduated? (max 1000 characters with spaces)
- Two letters of recommendation, preferably not older than six months either by two university teachers or by one university teacher and by one employer, or by internationally recognized scientist(s). The reference letters should:
- refer to academic and scientific qualifications and potential of the candidate with regard to the program;
- refer to professional qualifications and/or potential of the candidate;
- refer to your personal qualifications and/or potential of the candidate.
- Results of an English language test (see language requirements).
- Residence certificate: in order to verify your place of residence, you need to submit a residence certificate with your application for admission. You can use for example:
- a residence certificate issued in accordance with the candidate's municipality normal registration rules;
- a certificate from your place of work issued by your employer, which shows in which country you have been working;
- a certificate from your study or training issued by the institution in question. E.g. if you have been studying the year before the application scholarship application deadline, you may upload a transcript;
- the residence certificate must have been issued within 12 months before the submission deadline of applying for an EMJMD student scholarship (January 15th for partner countries and February 15th for program countries).
Notes:
- Only PDF, Word/Doc and JPEG files with a maximum file size of 2 MB per file will be accepted.
- In case you have not yet obtained your BSc degree, and you are in the last year of your study, please attach a statement of your university confirming that you are in the last year of your BSc study (instead of a copy of your BSc diploma) and stating that you are expected to graduate before August 15th of the year in which the program starts. Also, attach the transcript showing the subjects you followed, and the marks and ECTS obtained sο far.
