Course Description
The master’s program in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies links problem-oriented training in the disciplines of Social and Cultural Anthropology, History, Literature, and Cultural Studies, Brazilian Studies, Gender Studies, Sociology, Political Science and Economics with subject specialisation and the development of region-specific competencies. Thematic emphasis is placed on the historical, political, and social transformation processes as well as the cultural dynamics of Latin America in the ever-changing global context. In doing so, transregional and global processes of integration and interdependence, changing ideologies, and questions related to the field of Gender Studies are given special attention.
Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 60 credit points (LP/ ECTS) in one of the following disciplines: Pre-Colombian Studies, Brazilian Studies, History, Caribbean Studies, Latin American Studies, Political Science, Social and Cultural Anthropology, Social Sciences, Sociology, Economics, Literature, or Cultural Studies.
If these credit points are distributed across several of the aforementioned subjects, at least 40 credit points (LP/ ECTS) have to be obtained in one of the aforementioned subjects.
Required ECTS crеdits: 180.
