Course Description
The MA Program in Jewish Theology enables students to deepen their knowledge and to embark on further exploration of rabbinical literature as well as specific aspects of Jewish religious history, Liturgy or Halakha.
Degree: Master of Arts
For those Jewish students who are considering a career in the rabbinate or cantorate, the comprehensive BA and MA courses are complemented by vocational training programs provided by the Abraham Geiger College (Progressive) and the Zacharias Frankel College (Masorti).
The MA degree program in Jewish Theology – the only one of its kind in Europe – is open to all interested applicants regardless of their religious affiliation!

Previous Degree
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a major or minor field relevant to the master’s course of studies, such as Jewish theology, Jewish studies, or Rabbinical studies.
Minimum standard period of study: 6 semesters.
Required ECTS credits: 180.

Additional information:
English language knowledge can also be proven by a degree certificate for the completion of an English-language degree program at a recognized institution of higher education, or a certificate of the higher education entrance qualification obtained for an English language course of education in a country that has English as an official language, or College English Test (CET; China) Band 6 with at least 550 points. Other certificates or credentials recognized as equivalent will be published on the University of Potsdam’s website in accordance with the LSK’s decision before the start of the application process.
