Course Description
In modern companies, technical and business management aspects are closely intertwined. Students of the master’s degree program in Management (M.Sc.), partly or predominantly taught in English, learn to combine scientific and engineering knowledge with management expertise to analyze and shape changes in companies’ organizations and business areas due to technological developments.
The program primarily aims at graduates with bachelor’s degrees in natural sciences, engineering, or life sciences. Students supplement their specialist knowledge in the master’s program in Management with expertise in finance and accounting, innovation and entrepreneurship, planning and leadership, modeling and decision-making, and economic and political processes. In addition, they acquire important soft skills that enable them to understand and combine the cultures of economic and technical business areas.
Graduates of the program combine in-depth technical knowledge and understanding with comprehensive management skills. They are outstanding mediators and leaders at the interface between the natural and engineering sciences. Life sciences and business administration. They are, therefore, ideally qualified to take on positions of responsibility in companies and other organizations and ensure their long-term success.
*The language of instruction for this program is usually English. This means that most of the modules are offered in English. Some courses may, however, be taught in German.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering or natural sciences as well as in architecture or comparable courses of study.
Minimum standard period of study: 6 semesters.

Application Procedure & Selection
For the obtention of the VPD via uni-assist: € 75 for the first application, € 30 for each additional
Application Documents
The following must be enclosed with the application:
- A transcript of records with modules totaling at least 140 credits; the transcript of records must be issued by the responsible examination authority or the responsible study secretariat.
- A curricular analysis derived from the transcript of records; must be completed by the applicants as part of the online application process and uploaded electronically to TUMonline.
- A tabular CV.
- An essay written in English of at least 1500 and a maximum of 2000 words; the essay must be uploaded to TUMonline as a PDF document; the chair of the committee can propose one or more topics for selection; this must be communicated to the applicants by April 1st at the latest.
- An assurance that the essay was written independently and without outside help and that ideas taken from external sources are marked as such in compliance with the guidelines for ensuring good scientific practice and for dealing with scientific misconduct at the Technical University of Munich.
- Proof of specialist knowledge in the form of a "Graduate Management Admission Test" (GMAT) with at least 640 points is mandatory for applicants who have completed their first degree in the following countries: China, Bangladesh, India, Egypt, Pakistan; for other applicants with a first degree that was not completed in a signatory state to the Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region of 11 April 1997 (Lisbon Convention), submission of the mentioned test is recommendеd.
