Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in social or cultural sciences. For applicants from outside the social sciences, at least 30 ECTS of the degree must come from social science programs.
Minimum standard period of study: 6 semesters.
Required ECTS credits: 180.
If the first degree is not yet completed, at least 150 CP must have been achieved at the time of application.
In individual cases, candidates from other disciplines may also be admitted if their preliminary studies are related to the social sciences. These candidates should have a degree with at least a "good" GPA in those areas of their studies that are related to the social sciences. The responsible examination board decides on the admission and possible further requirements for studying in Magdеburg.
Proof of relevant study or work-related international experience of at least three months' duration must also be submittеd.
Successful applicants need an average grade of "good" GPA (German system: 2.5 or bettеr).

In order to apply for the "Peace and Conflict Studies" master program, you must submit a letter of motivation in English (3 pages). It should contain the following information:
- Explanation of the choice of program and place of study.
- The intended focus of the study.
- Relevant previous knowledge within your studies.
- Intended career paths after completion of your studiеs.
