Course Description
Do you think that while science and technology are developing at an impressive speed, many social, political, and philosophical questions raised by them remain unanswered? Modern societies are increasingly influenced by scientific and technological developments. These developments have profound effects on social and political systems as well as on our understanding of ourselves. If you are looking to build the skills needed to critically analyze and reflect on these developments, the M.A. in Philosophy of Science at Leibniz Universität Hannover is the perfect choice for you! This MA program offers high-level graduate training in core areas of contemporary philosophy, including metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, and moral and political philosophy, and provides in-depth training in the philosophy and ethics of science. As part of the program, you will engage in reflections on the conceptual foundations of the sciences, such as the role of values in science and the sources of the special credibility of scientific results.
