Qualification Requirements


Previous Degree

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, physics engineering or equivalent, or materials science or equivalent. Other engineering sciences bachelor degrees are accepted, if the program covers the following subjects to a sufficent extent: mathematics, physics, chemistry or materials science, basics of electrical engineering and semiconductor technology.

Minimum standard period of study: 7 semesters.
Required ECTS credits: 210.

You can apply also with a bachelor in mechanical engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, or similar if your bachelor covered in addition to the above mentioned subjects the following topics sufficiently: chemistry or materials science, semiconductor materials, fundamentals of electrical engineering (DC and AC technology) and basic electronics (especially operation and theory of the diode, but also some knowledge about transistors, thyristors, and other power electronics devices).

Universities that awarded the Bachelor's degree, must be ranked "H+" according to the "Anabin" list (list of approval of foreign university degreеs).

An evidenced graduation from an English-medium college or university is also accepted. Duolingo tests cannot be accepted. No knowledge of German is necessary for the program.

In addition to the requisites mentioned above, please hand in a full CV and a motivation letter (max. 1 page) which shows your deep interest and motivation for studying Master Photovoltaics Engineering Science.

If the results of your bachelor thesis/final year project were published, please add an electronic version of the journal or conference paper. If not, please write a well-structured summary of one A4 page, making clear the target, the scientific methods and the major results of your thesis. Add a second page of the most  important references of your thesis, and refer to them in your summary as usually for a scientific report. In case this work was done by a group of persons, please make a statement of what exactly was your part and which amount of the work it contributed to. Please do not submit whole bachelor thеsis.
