It is not necessary to provide proof of German language proficiency. Nevertheless, basic knowledge of German is indispensable for everyday life in Germany. You may take advantage of Offenburg University's Summer Course for German as a foreign language, which is offered every year in September. Applicants selected for the program without having submitted any language certificate yet will get a provisional admission – which is turned into a final admission only after providing the missing documents (by the beginning of October the latest). If by the beginning of October these documents are still missing, the admission will not be finalized and the applicants won't be enrolled into the program.
