Qualification Requirements


Previous Degree

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the Sustainable Energy Systems course at the TU Dortmund or in a comparable course of study.

Minimum standard period of study: 6 semesters.
Required ECTS credits: 180.

The comparability of the course of study is usually given if the course of study has the following scientific content:

  1. At least 18 credit points in mathematics (linear algebra/analysis).
  2. At least 75 credit points in the field of electrical engineering.
  3. At least 10 credit points in the field of computer science/prοgramming.

GPA Comment

The overall grade achieved in the required qualification was at least "good" (2.0). In the case of a foreign qualification, the overall grade must be "good" (2.0) after conversion into the German grading system and taking into account the recommendations of the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAΒ).

Additional information:
English language proficiency can be proven through the certificate of general or subject-specific university entrance qualification from the scope of the Basic Law, through an internationally recognized language certificate (e.g. TOEFL; IELTS) or a comparable certificate, or by attending an English-speaking school for at least one year, or for applicants whose native language is English or who have acquired a degree in an English-language course of study. The examination board decides on the recognition of other internationally accepted English certificates (e.g. IELTS, Cambridge First Certificate). Knowledge of German is not a requirement.
