Qualification Requirements
The application requirements for the study program in “Sustainable Mobilities” are:
Previous bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in:
- Economics
- Social sciences (i.e. sociology, political science, anthropology, human geography, etc.)
- Spatial, urban, transport and landscape planning and design
- Transport, economic and environmental engineering
- Architecture
Min ECTS required:
- 180 ECTS
Proof of having successfully completed a degree program at a German University or Berufsakademie/Duale Hochschule or an equivalent degree from a foreign institute of higher education.
If at the time of application, the first-degree program at a German university or Berufsakademie/Duale Hochschule or at an equivalent foreign European university using the ECTS grading system has not been completed, preliminary admission might be granted provided that proof of having completed the first-degree program is provided at the time of enrollment at the latest. In this case, at least 150 ECTS credits must have been achieved in the degree program at the time of application. If proof of having completed the first-degree program cannot be supplied before the deadline, admission is revoked.

Application Procedure & Selection
Application Documents
Before submitting your application, please inform yourself about the criteria for the admission and selection procedure. If you have any questions regarding the content or subject of your study, please address the contact person of the study program.
Applications are processed via the HfWU's own portal called SELMA. Prior to this, all international applicants must have their certificates recognized by the Studienkolleg Konstanz.
Certified certificate of successful completion of the final examination of the First Degree Course/Study. If you have not yet completed your study at the time of application, you must provide proof of the ECTS you have achieved and your grade.
If you have a foreign bachelor's degree, you will need an additional certificate before you apply.
If you are a foreign national: Apply early for recognition of your bachelor's degree at the Studienkolleg Konstanz.
If you are a German citizen: Apply early for recognition of your bachelor's degree at the Regional Council of Stuttgart.
A written statement in English in which applicants outline their motivation to apply for the program. It must not exceed two pages.
Chinese (except for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao) and Vietnamese applicants need an original certificate from the “Akademische Prüfstelle” for the application (from German Embassy in their country).
