Course Description
Practical consultation matters are often given short shrift in law programs. This is why the master's program in Insurance Law, which students can take while continuing to work and which focuses on private insurance law, places special emphasis on this subject. Besides general insurance contract law, the program covers all key aspects of insurance law such as personal, property and liability insurance. As a harbor city, maritime insurance and international insurance law (particularly English law) play an especially large role in Hamburg.

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in law.
Graduates in business administration or related subjects with a clear focus on legal/insurance law can also apply. Sufficient knowledge in the field of law (private law) must be demonstratеd.
A minimum of one year of professional experiencе.

- High school diploma or certificate of an equivalent school qualification.
- Graduation certificate.
- Reference of current employment.
- Completed and signed application for admission (PDF).
- For foreign applicants: Proof of German language skills (see language requirements).
Please note that you can submit your application documents as email attachments. There is no need to send complex application folders by post.
You will be informed within one week about any missing documents in your application. Your application will be processed further once we have received your complete application documents. The admissions committee will decide on admission after the application deadline has passеd.
