Water is the defining resource challenge of our century — and the M.Sc. Water Resources Engineering and Management (WAREM) at the University of Stuttgart trains the engineers who will tackle it. This two-year, English-taught program combines four fields: sanitary engineering, groundwater resources management, stochastic simulation of hydrosystems, and hydraulic engineering with river basin management. Working closely with multiple renowned research institutes, you will pair rigorous theory with laboratory and field practice, join an international cohort from all over the world, and graduate ready to shape sustainable water solutions across the globe.

Double Degree Option
WAREM students can pursue a double degree with Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden: the first two semesters are spent at the University of Stuttgart, followed by two semesters at Chalmers. To earn the second degree, students complete at least four compulsory courses (30 ECTS) at the partner university and write their final thesis project (30 ECTS) there, with all courses at both universities taught in English. Information on how to apply for the double degree option is provided at the beginning of the first WAREM semester.
