Sorbian - Teaching Degree State Exam Programs in Germany without tuition fees (2026/27)

Germany offers international students pursuing a Teaching Degree in Sorbian Language a unique educational opportunity that combines specialized linguistic training with pedagogical expertise in preserving and teaching this rare West Slavic minority language native to the Lusatia region of eastern Germany. The program develops students' proficiency in both Upper and Lower Sorbian dialects, Slavic linguistics, Sorbian literature, and cultural heritage alongside advanced teaching methodologies specifically designed for minority language education in bilingual contexts and language revitalization efforts. Students benefit from studying in one of the few regions worldwide where this indigenous language maintains official status, providing authentic immersion opportunities through interaction with native Sorbian communities, cultural institutions, and bilingual schools that implement Germany's constitutional protection for this linguistic minority.
