The German University in Cairo (GUC) established its Berlin branch in October 2012 in accordance with Article 124a of the Berlin Higher Education Act. The branch aims to promote German-Egyptian encounters and serve as a hub for international academic, scientific and cultural exchange. Students at the GUC Berlin Branch have the opportunity to study in English while immersed in the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany. This unique experience allows them to pursue their academic goals and gain valuable life experience during their stay in the German capital.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
