HMU Health and Medical University Erfurt is a private, state-recognized university in Thuringia's capital – recognized in 2021, teaching since 2023, and with around 1,500 students one of Germany's youngest universities. Across two faculties – Medicine and Health – it offers ten programs in health and medicine: from Human Medicine and Dentistry (state examination, no numerus clausus, admission by interview) to Psychology, Biomedicine, Medical Education, and Physician Assistant.

Teaching is interdisciplinary and takes place in small groups – at the historic Villa Marienhaus, the Alte Post campus in the city center, and the Bindersleben research campus; clinical training is provided by partner hospital Helios Klinikum Erfurt. The HMU Erfurt Exchange Programme connects you with more than 26 partner universities worldwide.

Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course.
