The Hesse University of Finance and Administration (HHFR) in Rotenburg an der Fulda is a public university of applied sciences under the jurisdiction of the State of Hesse and serves as the central training institution for the state’s tax authorities and judiciary. Founded in 1953 as the State Finance School and elevated to university status in 1980 (formerly Rotenburg University of Applied Administrative Sciences until 2010), HHFR is located in a distinctive thirteen-storey tower that, along with modernised lecture halls and residential buildings added in 2000, shapes the local skyline.
