Study Special Education - Teaching Degree [Förderschule] at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2026/27)

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is a public comprehensive university in the heart of the German capital. Founded in 1810, it is Berlin's oldest university and sees itself as "the modern original": Wilhelm von Humboldt's idea of uniting research and teaching still shapes how you study here. More than 35,000 students and doctoral candidates learn across four campuses – Mitte, Nord, Adlershof, and Dahlem – in nine faculties and over 170 degree programs, ranging from the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies to law, economics, and life sciences, mathematics, natural sciences, and agriculture; medicine is taught at the jointly run Charité. HU has held University of Excellence status since 2012 and has been part of the Berlin University Alliance, Germany's only excellence consortium, since 2019.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
