The North German University of Applied Sciences for Judicial Administration (HR Nord) in Hildesheim is a state-run university of applied sciences in Lower Saxony. It was founded on 30 September 2007 as the successor institution to the Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Judicial Services. It trains judicial officers in a dual study programme for the federal states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Bremen and awards the degree ‘Diplom-Rechtspfleger/in (FH)’ (graduate judicial officer). The training is divided into four sections: a twelve-month basic study period, a six-month practical study phase I, a further twelve-month main study period and, finally, a six-month practical study phase II at local courts and public prosecutor's offices.
