StudiumPlus is a well-established dual study program in Germany that combines academic education with practical, company-based training. Organized by Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), it operates in partnership with CompetenceCenter Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (CCDHBW), a network of hundreds of companies and institutions. StudiumPlus's core idea is to closely link theory and practice. Students are enrolled as regular university students while being employed simultaneously by a partner company. This allows them to apply what they learn in lectures directly to real work environments and gain valuable professional experience alongside their academic studies. StudiumPlus offers a wide range of bachelor's and master's programs, particularly in engineering, business administration, computer science, and the social sciences. Study phases at the university alternate with practical phases at a partner company, following a structured and coordinated schedule. This dual structure ensures that academic content aligns closely with the needs of the labor market. One of the major advantages of StudiumPlus is its strong career orientation. Students typically receive a salary or financial support from their partner company, and many graduates are offered permanent positions after completing their studies. Companies benefit by training highly qualified professionals who are already familiar with their organizational culture and processes. Overall, StudiumPlus is a successful model of dual education in Germany. Combining academic excellence, practical relevance, and strong industry cooperation, StudiumPlus is an attractive option for students who want to start their careers early while earning a recognized university degree.
