Study Biomedicine at Trier University of Applied Sciences (2026/27)

Trier University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Trier) is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate, organised into seven faculties across locations in Trier (the main campus Schneidershof and the Campus Gestaltung), Birkenfeld (the Environmental Campus), and Idar-Oberstein. It offers a broad, strongly practice-oriented range of bachelor's and master's programmes — including dual work-study options — in fields such as engineering, computer science, business, environmental sciences, design, and therapy sciences. Its standout location, the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld, runs on a zero-emission concept that has made it Germany's most sustainable higher-education site and placed it near the top worldwide in the international UI GreenMetric ranking, with sustainability at the centre of its teaching and research; the Campus Gestaltung adds a creative profile in architecture and design, including the unusual fine-arts programme in gemstone and jewellery in Idar-Oberstein. With a strong emphasis on industry collaboration and research that feeds directly into teaching, and as a member of the European University Association, the university pairs an interdisciplinary, innovation-driven approach with its location in Germany's south-western corner, close to Luxembourg, France, and Belgium.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
