Founded in 2006, the University of Applied Labour Studies (HdBA) is a state-recognised institution of the Federal Employment Agency (BA) in Germany. With campuses in Mannheim and Schwerin, the HdBA specialises in labour market and employment studies and offers Bachelor's programmes in Labour Market Management and Guidance for Education, Careers and Employment, as well as a Master's programme in Labour Market Oriented Counselling. The university integrates theoretical education with practical training and closely aligns its curriculum with the needs of the BA, one of Germany's largest employers with approximately 90,000 employees.
