Zittau-Görlitz University of Applied Sciences: Application Deadlines for international programs (2026/27)

Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz (HSZG), founded in 1992, is a public university of applied sciences with approximately 3,000 students across two campuses in Zittau (25,000 residents) and Görlitz (55,000 residents) at Germany's eastern borders with Poland and Czech Republic. This regional Fachhochschule offers bachelor's and master's programs in engineering, computer science, business administration, environmental technology, and social work, with distinctive specializations in energy-efficient building systems, biotechnology, and trinational management programs leveraging the border location. Located in Saxony's easternmost cities, both campuses provide extremely low living costs around €450-600 monthly—among Germany's cheapest—in historic towns offering cross-border cultural experiences but limited economic opportunities and requiring adjustment to peripheral locations 2-3 hours from Dresden and Berlin. Programs operate primarily in German requiring B2-C1 proficiency for most degrees, though some international management programs incorporate English, Polish, or Czech components through the Neisse University Network partnership with institutions in neighboring countries.
