Bamberg: Application Deadlines for State Exam programs (2026/27)

Bamberg offers international students a truly unique living experience in one of Germany's most picturesque cities, where history, culture, and everyday life blend seamlessly along scenic canals and medieval streets. As a UNESCO World Heritage city, Bamberg's entire old town is preserved as an architectural masterpiece—baroque facades, half-timbered houses, and the iconic Altes Rathaus perched on a bridge—yet the atmosphere feels lively rather than museum-like, thanks to a strong student presence from the University of Bamberg and a culture built around cosy cafés, independent shops, and Franconia's famous brewing tradition. The city's compact size makes everything reachable on foot or by bicycle, creating a relaxed, personal rhythm of life where you quickly recognise familiar faces and find your favourite spots. Living costs remain moderate compared to larger German cities, letting students enjoy a high quality of life without financial strain, while Nuremberg and its international airport sit less than an hour away for broader connections.
