Brandenburg an der Havel: Admission Restriction - Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Brandenburg an der Havel offers international students a distinctive educational experience at the Medical School Brandenburg (MHB) and the local campus of Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, with specialised programmes in medicine, engineering, and security management that benefit from smaller cohorts and personalised attention. This historic city—which gave its name to the surrounding state—spreads across three islands and the banks of the Havel River, creating a captivating cityscape where brick Gothic churches, ancient city walls, and peaceful waterways form an inspiring backdrop for daily life unlike anywhere else in the region. The intimate academic environment fosters close relationships with professors and fellow students, while the authentic eastern German setting provides genuine cultural immersion away from tourist crowds. Living costs remain remarkably affordable compared to Berlin, which sits just 45 minutes away by direct train, giving students easy access to a world capital for culture, nightlife, and international connections while maintaining a comfortable, relaxed home base.
