Dessau-Roßlau: Admission Restriction - Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Dessau-Roßlau offers international students a distinctive educational experience at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and the renowned Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, where studying design, architecture, or environmental sciences means engaging directly with one of the most influential movements in modern creative history. This historic city is the birthplace of the Bauhaus school, and its UNESCO World Heritage buildings—the iconic Bauhaus Building, the Masters' Houses, and the experimental Törten Estate—form an incomparable backdrop for students in creative disciplines, turning everyday surroundings into living lessons in design philosophy. The intimate campus atmosphere fosters close connections with professors and a collaborative spirit across international backgrounds, while workshops, exhibitions, and residencies at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation create opportunities for hands-on engagement that few institutions anywhere can offer. Living costs rank among the lowest of any German university city, allowing students to live comfortably on modest budgets while experiencing authentic eastern German culture away from tourist crowds.
