Hanau Universities (2026/27)

Hanau offers international students a strategic educational experience at its University of Applied Sciences and specialized vocational academies. This historic city at the eastern edge of the Rhine-Main region provides quality practical education in engineering, material sciences, and jewelry design—the latter reflecting Hanau's centuries-old goldsmithing tradition as the birthplace of the famous Grimm Brothers. International students benefit from studying in a city that perfectly balances its own distinct identity with exceptional proximity to Frankfurt, creating access to major employment opportunities while enjoying more affordable living costs than in the financial center just 20 minutes away by train. The university's strong connections to regional industries, including the automotive sector and precision manufacturing, create valuable internship pathways and practical learning experiences.
