Study Earth Science - Teacher Education Academic Secondary Education [Gymnasium] in Hannover (2026/27)

Studying geography to become a high school teacher means teaching the only school subject that combines natural and social sciences. As a geography teacher, you explain to students how climate, landscapes, and ecosystems work, but also how people shape spaces, use resources, and deal with global challenges. Topics such as climate change, migration, urbanization, and sustainability are at the heart of the subject—and thus precisely the issues that will shape the future of the younger generation. The degree program itself is diverse: it covers physical geography with geology, climatology, and hydrology, as well as human geography with economic, urban, and population geography.
