Hennef Universities (2026/27)

Hennef offers international students a strategic educational experience at the local campus of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS), specialising in social security management, technical journalism, and business administration—including Germany's only dedicated programme in social security studies, attracting students from around the world who want to understand the country's renowned welfare system from the inside. This pleasant town in the Rhine-Sieg district provides quality education with a practical focus, where modern campus facilities and strong connections to regional businesses, government agencies, and social institutions create valuable internship pathways in both public and private sectors that translate classroom theory into professional experience. The location strikes an ideal balance: Hennef itself offers affordable living costs, safe surroundings, and a relaxed pace that supports focused study, while excellent train connections put Bonn and Cologne within easy reach for culture, nightlife, and the broader opportunities of a major metropolitan region. The surrounding Bergisches Land countryside—forests, meadows, and the gentle Sieg River valley—provides beautiful natural settings for hiking, cycling, and unwinding between intensive study sessions, a quality of life that students in busier cities often envy.
