Höxter: Admission Restriction - Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Höxter offers international students a distinctive educational experience at the local campus of OWL University of Applied Sciences (Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe), specialising in landscape architecture, environmental engineering, and sustainable resource management—fields where the surrounding Weser River landscapes and forests serve as living laboratories, making theory immediately tangible. This charming historic town provides specialised education in a setting of remarkable natural and cultural significance, with the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Corvey Abbey, one of Germany's most important medieval monasteries, creating an inspiring backdrop just minutes from campus. The intimate academic environment fosters close relationships with professors and a collaborative learning community where personal attention and hands-on project work define the experience in ways larger universities cannot replicate. Students enjoy authentic immersion in German small-town life: Höxter's beautifully preserved medieval centre, half-timbered houses, weekly markets, and riverside paths offer genuine cultural experiences without tourist crowds, while the safe, bicycle-friendly layout makes daily life simple and relaxed.
