State Exam Programs in Konstanz without Admission Restriction / NC-Free (2026/27)

Konstanz offers international students an exceptional educational experience at its renowned university, set in one of Germany's most stunning locations directly on the shores of Lake Constance where the Alps rise across crystal-clear water and three countries meet. The University of Konstanz, a reform university founded in the 1960s with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and research excellence, has earned a strong reputation in natural sciences, economics, politics, and international studies—fields that draw directly on the city's unique position at the crossroads of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Cross-border academic partnerships and a genuinely international student body create opportunities for comparative European research and perspectives that few German universities can offer. The setting itself inspires: a perfectly preserved medieval old town that escaped World War II bombing, lakeside promenades, and a lifestyle that feels almost Mediterranean in summer, with beaches, outdoor cafés, sailing, and swimming shaping student life as much as libraries and lectures.
