Osnabrück Universities (2026/27)

Osnabrück offers international students a dynamic educational experience at its respected University and University of Applied Sciences, set in a historic city of peace where the Treaty of Westphalia ended the Thirty Years' War in 1648. This charming city in Lower Saxony provides excellent education across diverse disciplines, with particular strengths in cognitive science, environmental studies, and international law reflecting its heritage as a place of diplomatic resolution. International students benefit from studying in a genuine university city where academic excellence meets authentic German character, creating a supportive community enhanced by comprehensive international services and a welcoming atmosphere unusual for a mid-sized German city. The beautifully preserved medieval old town, with its impressive cathedral, historic town hall, and half-timbered buildings, creates an inspiring backdrop for academic pursuits while offering immersion in German culture away from tourist centers.
