The master's program School Research and School Development focuses on phenomena, theories, and empirical findings from school and teaching research as well as school and teaching development. Students in this course acquire in-depth knowledge and important skills to make schools more challenging, to reflect on teaching based on research, to stimulate innovation in schools, and to implement reforms. In addition to a thorough examination of research methods, the main focus of the course is on dealing with heterogeneity at all levels of the school system, the professionalization of teachers, digitalization, consulting, and school leadership and management.

The language of study and examination in the master's degree program in School Research and School Development is generally German. Courses and examinations in individual modules are also offered in English.
