English language proficiency can also be proven with the German university entrance qualification (HZB) if at least four semesters of English were taken in the higher level (Oberstufe) (average mark of at least 8 points, excluding a separate Abitur examination). Required documents to be uploaded with the application:
- B.Sc. certificate and transcript of academic records in original language, and, if this is not English or German, an official translation to English or German. If your bachelor's studies are not completed yet, the current transcript of records is also acceptable.
- Ranking of the final results of your B.Sc. which shows you are part of the best 50% of your cohort - in case your overall grade is not “good” (second class upper) or better, OR a letter of recommendation, preferably by professors from the university which has awarded the degree relevant for admission - in case your overall grade is slightly under “good” (second class upper).
- Proof of English proficiency if your first language is not English (see language requirements).
- Motivation letter in English language (not more than one page).
- Result of the Crop Sciences Pre-test.
- Proof of a completed apprenticeship - if available.
- Reference letters from employers and/or professors - if available.
- In case the applicant has completed a stay abroad for at least 1 month in a country where the local language is different than the native language of the applicant and with the purpose to work or study, the respective documents can be submitted as well
- Applicants from China and Vietnam need to provide a certificate of the academic testing center of the German embassy in their country (APS).
