Europe - Teaching Degree Numerus Clausus

Europe - Teaching Degree Programs in Germany with Admission Restriction - Numerus Clausus/NC (2026/27)

Overview Deadlines

Germany offers international students pioneering European Teaching Degrees that combine bilingual didactics with intercultural competence, preparing educators to teach across diverse European contexts. These programs integrate traditional teacher training in two subjects with advanced foreign language proficiency (typically English or French) and in-depth knowledge of European culture, history, and institutions. A central feature is Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), where subject content is taught through a foreign language, equipping future teachers to foster both subject mastery and language development.

Most Selective Europe - Teaching Degree Programs

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
