German- Teaching Degree Comprehensive School [Gesamtschule]: Top State Exam Programs in Germany (2026/27)

Studying German to become a teacher at comprehensive schools means teaching students of all ability levels the most important tool for education, participation, and self-expression: language. As a German teacher at a comprehensive school, you encounter the whole spectrum of young people—from those who struggle with reading to those who are preparing to study German language and literature. This diversity makes teaching challenging, but also particularly lively: you learn to differentiate content, promote individual strengths, and meet each young person where they are.
