Studying Political Science in Germany gives you the opportunity to learn about political institutions, the distribution of power, resources, and political theories in the center of the European Union. Because many programs are offered in English, it provides students the opportunity to study in a cosmopolitan and diverse classroom setting.

In Germany, degree programs in Political Science are often very interdisciplinary and give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in diverse aspects of the subject area. In the field of international relations, programs often intersect with international law and focus on human rights, or intersect with International Political Economy and focus on aspects of development. Some programs focus on comparative politics and feature aspects of area studies and policy research. The role of the European Union is also at the heart of some programs in Germany, which makes it a great hub for students interested in the study of international organizations. There are also less theory-based programs, which focus on cutting-edge topics such as digitalization and e-governance.

No matter your interests and strand of Political Science you wish to pursue, we are certain that you can find some great options to continue your studies in this field in Germany.
