Studying singing gives you the opportunity to discover your voice as an instrument and develop it to the highest artistic level. You will learn vocal techniques, breath training and stage presence while working on a broad repertoire ranging from opera and oratorio to art song and contemporary music. In addition to solo singing, the programme focuses on subjects such as music theory, ear training, language and style skills as well as acting and movement.

Most Selective Singing Programs

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
