The Duale Hochschule Schleswig-Holstein (DHSH), officially the Duale Hochschule Schleswig-Holstein für angewandte Wissenschaften, is a private university of applied sciences founded in 2018 that combines academic study with practical on-the-job training in partner companies. With its three campuses in Kiel, Lübeck and Flensburg—close to the Baltic Sea—DHSH offers students the unique opportunity to study in a region where others often spend their holidays. The university focuses on business-oriented fields with dual bachelor’s programmes in Business Administration, Social Work and Business Information Systems, complemented by a part-time master’s in Digital Business & Innovation. Established by the Schleswig-Holstein Business Academy, run by the state’s Chambers of Industry and Commerce, DHSH was created to strengthen the regional workforce by evolving from a vocational academy into a state-recognised university.
