A public university in Bavaria's Allgäu region, near the Alps. Founded in 1977, with around 6,000 students today.

As a Fachhochschule (university of applied sciences), Kempten focuses on practical training rather than academic research. Every degree includes at least one semester of industry experience, and partnerships with regional and international companies are built into the curriculum.

Programs span engineering, computer science, business, tourism, social work, and health sciences. Several programs are taught in English.
