Akkon University of Applied Sciences for Human Sciences, also known as Akkon Hochschule, is a private, state-recognised university in Berlin, Germany. Akkon Hochschule was founded in 2009 and is the first university in Germany dedicated to human sciences. It is also the only university under the auspices of an aid organisation, Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe e.V. With approximately 1,400 students, Akkon Hochschule offers a unique educational experience at the intersection of healthcare, social work and humanitarian aid.

Numerus Clausus (Admission Restriction)

For degree courses with a numerus clausus, part of the study places are allocated according to the grade point average (GPA) of the previous degree. Selection is generally based on how many applicants apply for a place. The higher the grade, the more difficult it is to get onto the course. The German grading system ranges from 1.0 (very good) to 6.0 (unsatisfactory).
