FUBiS - Freie Universität Berlin International Summer and Winter University is an intensive academic programme that offers students the opportunity to earn credits towards their degree at their home institution. The programme lasts 3 to 6 weeks and takes place both in summer and winter at Freie Universität Berlin, a renowned public research university located in the charming district of Lankwitz in the south of Berlin, Germany.

Founded in 1948, Freie Universität Berlin will have more than 30,000 students by 2021. The FUBiS programme, based at the Lankwitz campus, offers a diverse curriculum including German language courses at up to five levels of proficiency and subject courses taught mostly in English by distinguished German and international faculty. Subject courses cover a wide range of topics including history, politics, law, economics and culture, often with a focus on Berlin and Germany.

FUBiS offers a flexible programme structure, allowing students to choose between a semi-intensive German course, a subject course, an intensive German language course, or a combination of language and subject courses. The programme also includes study visits and excursions within Berlin, taking advantage of the city's rich historical and cultural resources.

With a commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of intercultural competence, FUBiS aims to provide students with a rewarding study abroad experience. The programme has successfully completed the Forum on Education Abroad's Quality Improvement Programme (QUIP), demonstrating its commitment to high standards.

Participants in FUBiS become part of an international community of students from over 60 countries. Upon successful completion of the programme, students receive ECTS credits that can be transferred to their home institution.
