FUBiS - Freie UniversitÀt Berlin International Summer and Winter University is an intensive academic programme that offers students the opportunity to earn credits towards their degree at their home institution. The programme lasts 3 to 6 weeks and takes place both in summer and winter at Freie UniversitÀt Berlin, a renowned public research university located in the charming district of Lankwitz in the south of Berlin, Germany.

Founded in 1948, Freie UniversitÀt Berlin will have more than 30,000 students by 2021. The FUBiS programme, based at the Lankwitz campus, offers a diverse curriculum including German language courses at up to five levels of proficiency and subject courses taught mostly in English by distinguished German and international faculty. Subject courses cover a wide range of topics including history, politics, law, economics and culture, often with a focus on Berlin and Germany.

FUBiS offers a flexible programme structure, allowing students to choose between a semi-intensive German course, a subject course, an intensive German language course, or a combination of language and subject courses.

Numerus Clausus (NC)
This Latin term means “limited number” and indicates that a program has restricted admission. In other words, not all applicants can be accepted, so selection is usually based on grades or other criteria when demand exceeds available spots.
