Bard College Berlin, founded in 1999, is a liberal arts university in the heart of Berlin that offers an international and interdisciplinary education rooted in critical thinking, political and social theory, and creative expression. With small class sizes and a diverse student body, the College fosters close interaction between students and faculty while providing a rigorous core curriculum in ethics, politics, literature, art, and philosophy before specialisation in areas such as Economics, Politics and Social Thought, or Art and Aesthetics. Drawing on Berlin’s cultural and historical landscape as an extended classroom, Bard combines academic study with experiential learning, internships, and artistic practice, while its integration into Bard’s global network expands opportunities for exchange and collaboration with campuses and partner institutions worldwide. A vibrant residential campus, strong sense of community, and emphasis on dialogue, diversity, and research ensure that graduates are equipped with analytical tools, creativity, and global perspectives to navigate and shape the complexities of today’s world.
